Look-In

One of the dealers at the Bristol show, Phil Clarke was selling vintage British artwork from a variety of comics and magazines including Look-In. Charlie Adlard bought this beautiful piece by Arnaldo Putzu who painted most of the magazine's covers in the 1970's. Phil also had an amazing Putzu cover painting of Alvin Stardust. I was sorely tempted but didn't think I'd really want to see him staring down from my studio wall every day...

I had a centre spread poster of the 1976 King Kong from Look-In on my bedroom door as a kid. In fact, I used to have unbelieveably lucid dreams that it could speak to me. And that was without nicotine patches.

Wow, I remember LOOK-IN! They had some great srtists working on some of those pages. I forget the name of the artist who drew the KUNG-FU strip, but it was pretty cool stuff.
LOOK-IN covers were always class.
