More Life Drawings...

A couple of 2 minute brushpen drawings and a 20 minute Conte crayon drawing. My in-laws bought me some Conte sticks for my birthday, so I thought I'd better try them out.

hi sean,
i've tried the tria brushpen with india ink (w&n), and its good, but the ink flow is too heavy and sometimes it's hard to have a good control on thin lines...
any seggestion for a dumb wannabe? :P
sorry for my "ugly" english.

For these sketches I used a Pentel brush pen. It doesn't seem to have another name, it's all black and takes a disposable cartridge. For comic pages I've been using a Pentel Color Brush #101. You control the ink flow by squeezing the cartridge and can get thin and fat lines quite easily.

thanks sean!
now the difficult part will be most probably to find them
;)

Why do you use a brush pen instead of a brush (for comic pages)? Have you found a brush pen that lasts (all I ever tried wore out much faster than real brushes)?

I used real brushes for years but the quality just doesn't seem to be there any more. I'm lucky if I get three or four pages out of a sable. The Pentel Color Brush I'm using at the moment is still good after more than 100 pages.
